Glasgow Half Marathon
Metro - Sept 9th 2002
What a day.....and what a buzz. At first I thought
to myself what are we doing at 10 am on a Sunday morning in this weather.
I dont think I have ever witnessed such rain in all my years living in Glasgow.
It was unreal. I thought ...this is like
set of Blade Runner.....a dim light......the rain, a sheet of falling water...distorting
the light and my vision.........but when they started to run by us WOW! The
adrenaline, their sheer determination and solidarity just made you dizzy
(yep even more dizzy than any Sunday morning I can remember). It really was
an honor and we all felt very privileged to play.8,000 people running by me...banging
on my drum, shaking my hand....Thanks to all of you for such a kind show of
appreciation and CONGRATULATIONS on completing
such a difficult run.. Count on our support..... no matter what the weather.
